Well this morning I got a alert that southwestern bell had fell off my report they could not or they did not â??Verifyâ? the info to the CRA and now its gone itâ??s a little success, but I have a long ways to go my next baddy is â??FIRST PREMIERâ? which I am dealing with now, they have sold my account to some company called â??ARROW FINANCIALâ?. I would like to thank all of you for your help here, and as far as â??DVâ? I want be trying that way since it a long and lengthy way to go (as stated here by people) with no rewards. I think I will go the settlement route on my old account but I have a? If I have a â??COLLECTIONâ?, â??DEROGATORYâ?, or anything that shows negative toward my credit by the collection agency is it possible to negotiate for them to remove the negativity and put â??PAID AS AGREEDâ? OR â??PAID IN FULLâ? for payment? Or is this something that I will have to take up with the OC.?
jlynn: A collection account can never be a positive. i was speaking about my deletion, I'm sorry I believe your a little confused, I think that a "COLLECTION" that is removed and deleted from your credit report is a "GREAT STEP".
You would be correct but, that isn't what you asked. That is why Jlynn answered as they did. What they were saying is that a "paid" collection is no better than an "unpaid" collection. As for accounts that have been sold, you cannot even negotiate payment with the original creditor insofar as they've sold the accounts. Unfortunately, you won't be getting any pay for deletes from Arrow that is for certain. You may get some traction with smaller outfits but, the pay for delete paradigm is archaine and largely a thing of the past. Your best chance for deletion is disputing and/or litigation.
