1/4 acre is a small lot but sufficient. The more you have, the more you have to keep up. I have the perfect deal - 1/4 lot that backs up to a common area that is kept up by the homeowners association and then a utility easement behind that. I have about 400 feet to the neighbors behind me and only mow about 40 feet of it. Great view. Dear, rabbits, birds,, and even skunks.
Bill, it all depends on the person. One acre to me is too small. To some people 1/8 acre is sufficient. It all depends on how much yard you are willing to upkeep and if you don't mind living close to people. I would go through a couple of local subdivisions in your area. Most large builders usually build homes on 1/8 to 1/2 acre lots. See what you like and what you feel comfortable with. Good luck. Dani
I am on a land buying frennzy now LoL...I bought 3 parcels in the past month.. 1.) Arizona (undeveloped) 1.25 acres 2.) New Mexico 1/2 Acre 3.) California City Ca. 1/4 acre on road All those are buildable plat maps show roads not bad for a future investment..However i want to get a nice lot in Maine for home atleast 3 acres buildable and on road.
