After 8 months of work and removing 14 items from my credit report and now having score of 774, I have 1 item left giving me fits.

I have a car loan with my credit union paid off over 2 years showing late payments with an I2. Knowing my credit union the way I do a validation letter would not had work with this group. I called then on the phone and explain during my back injury that I always stayed in touch while returning thier phones calls. They did agree to update the info being reported to the CRA.

The credit union says they have updated the info but the CRA still is reporting the same info and asking the CRA to update has not changed a single thing. My calls to the credit union still has the credit union saying they have updated the info and thats all they can do.

The only thing that I can think think of is sending a good will letter to the credit union and send a letter to the CRA asking the info be deleted.

No. Don't ask for it to be deleted. Go to your credit union and ask them to write you a short letter on their letterhead stating you have never been late. Have someone there sign it, then fax it to the cra and ask them to please update this immediately as you are going for a possible mortgage. It works. Usually takes the cra about 5 days once they get the fax.

BTW - great job on the cleanup!! It took me about the same amount of time to get everything removed.
