I had 10 inquiries deleted AND a Providian collection account from EXP!!! YEAH! whopping 14 point increase (boo!!!!) I thought it would be a lot more (especially cuz providian was only 2 years old) I disputed online through credit expert...
That's great! Congrats especially on the Providian deletion. How did you accomplish that? I have a Providian chargeoff which is over 5 years old and I can't seem to get anywhere with this. It's reflected on my Experian report and when I dispute online, the won't accept, & I get a message that this was already investigated. Any suggestions?
Thanks!!! I've read on the board that Providian is in "dire straits", so I just req investigation, and fortunately it came off....have you gone through the validation process w/ providian? I would lay off the CRA disputes for awhile, and try to get some sort of resolve w/ providian....is a ca reporting them as well? I have Gulf reporting on one of my CR's for providian (investigation pending) and providian is still on 2 others (we'll see results on 4/15!) There are some good letters posted on the board for "original creditors", but I don't have a link... Good luck!
I disputed my two chargeoffs with the CRA and sent Providian a validation request at the same time, so I'm not sure which method did it for me, but I got my updated report yesterday and they were deleted!!!!!! lbowman ps. I used the same method with my husband and his two charge offs were deleted also!!
Most of us have been using their online dispute process....before they "deactivated" it. Just an FYI...EXP does really send out investigation inquiries to the lenders who pulled your report...because sometimes, those investigation results come back verified. I've had 13 out of 16 inquiries removed. The other 3 were verified by the lenders....I sent a letter to those lenders and they provided proof of their permissible purpose. Too bad, I can't continue trying online now. Those last 3 are a tough nut to crack. TIA, Ted
Ted, who are those 3 creditors. Just curious. I have had a problem with Fleet pulling inquiries and I've never made any initiation with them whatsoever.
