    1. You don't - or can't - pay more than the minimum payments on your credit cards.
    2. You have no savings.
    3. You have more than 3 major credit cards - and are near your limits on all of them.
    4. You use your credit cards to pay other bills and things you used to pay cash for.
    5. You're using more of your total income to pay your debts.
    6. You don't know how much you owe on all of your debts.
    7. Your credit card has been declined.
    8. You've been denied credit.
    9. Collectors are calling.
    10. You lie about how much you owe or hide your bills from your spouse or family members.

    Some of this is BOGUS
    2) Savings makes you a bunch of interest??? SINCE WHEN???
    4) CASH??? I USE CREDIT FOR MY BENEFIT---DO YOU KNOW WHAT MILES ARE??? KNOW WHAT PIF IS???
    7) I have been DECLINED because I spent $2,500 in one day...BIG DEAL!!! I PIF before the bill comes
    8) You can be DENIED CREDIT because they "THINK" you have too much credit.

I absolutely agree, although I would add that all of these things would need to be occuring simultaneously. There are those of use like George that have been declined for whatever unknown reason.
Also I think that the meaning of "savings' would really even be any leftover cash. Before I declared bk, i had $12, or less a week for groceries, and all of the above applied. It was way too late by then to do anything about it.

You know what's REALLY funny? Equifax sent me an email with that as part of their monthly credit monitoring product.
    LOL!!!
