1st approach for a Charge-off?

I've read a variety of approaches on this site (thank you!) and I can't determine which one I should try first.

I have a paid charge-off from a utility company (I had no idea it was reported as a charge-off on my credit report when I paid the final bill). There are some mistakes on the report, such as the date the account was opened, and also the reports state that the account is still open when it has been closed since 2001.

Since I want this off my report, which option is best for my first dispute:
    - State that the item has never been in collections and was paid as agreed
    - State that I don't have an open TXU Electric account
    - State the errors on the report (date open, account status)

    Thanks!

Always, ALWAYS, start your dispute with 'No recollection of this account". You are not really lying ... *TWO* years is a loooooooooooong time to remember things ... :)

If it does not go well, then move on to other stuff you mentioned above
