Hi All, today i'm sending my first validation letter out to a 3rd party collection attorney. My question is, when I get the proof of receipt back....

.......do I send a dispute letter (which one?) to the original creditor who charged off my account about 1 1/2 years ago

.........or do I send it to the first collection agency (Palisades) that had my account after the charge off? (supposedly who the third part is representing)??

.......or....do I send it to the credit bureaus

........or....do I send it to all of the above???

Thanks very much ..... I'm overcomplicating things I know!!!

Thanks llbrown! That's what I needed....a short and direct answer! To answer yours......it is in the hands of a law firm whose letter said that their Client is Palisades. So I sent the validation request to the law firm......and that is all I have done!
(Oh, I have ordered my credit reports, but I haven't done anything with them yet other than OPT-OUT)

Should I just sit tight and see what they do? I'm still within my states statute of limitations, so I'm afraid to stir the pot!

Thanks for any and all of your input!!!
