2 Agencies 1 Bill?? I received a letter dated April 30 from Park Dansan and then a letter today from CBCS today dated May 2 requesting I pay them for the same account. What the hell? What can/should I do? I already sent out the validation letter to Park Dansan 2 days ago, before getting this letter today.
Get a validation from CBCS. If they come up with the same crap (account), tell one of them to shove it where the sun don't shine.
This is what I did Both letters had the exact same account number on it. So what I did was send the payoff to the OC and mailed both CA cease and desist letters with copies of letters from the other company enclosed, stating that I settled with the OC and they are illegally trying to collect on a debt whose ownership is obviously in dispute. I sent them CMRRR.
While I never sent a C & D, I have done similar with 30 day dunning letters. Pay off OC, a few days later send DV to CA's, and they never reported. Good luck!
so far... Yes I actually paid, and I have attached a copy of the cashed check to my paperwork that I sent into the CRA's to get the items removed. Neither CA has sent another letter nor have they appeared on my CR, only the OC.
where I am now... I sent the payment to the OC - they of course cashed the check. I sent letters to both CAs and have heard absolutely nothing from either of them. I have, of course, disputed the item on my CR and am awaiting the results. I am still hoping to kick these scores up some more in order to refi the house.
got a response Park and Dansan sent me a letter today stating that they would no longer be contacting me. I won a round. WOO HOO I also saw my score jump 13 points today - 2 derogs were removed today.
