I have a Discover Card Plat that I use and pay off monthly.. Hubby just got one with a 0% until December.. of course we used all 6K of the allowable credit (switch-a roo- post). In my email box today an offer for a Zero until January.. .. should I dare ? Under my name I have 3 inquires. .. what I could/would do if approved for enough is to pay out hubby's 3.9% 4,900 citi.. and just let it ride while we hit the 4.75% V Bank of America account. Maybe by January.. all debts can squish to ONE card.. which is what hubby really wants me to MAKE happen here asap. Should I quit playing before I get burned? OR.. would it be possible to call the exsisting Discover Card account and ask for this zero deal until January ? . Would I still be able to charge and payoff monthly like this ? Cherie
Following Up.. Today's mail brings hubby a pre-approved Discover Titanium card with a 0% Intro APR until January .. 9.99 there after.. Whats a titanium card ?
"pre-approved" is different than pre-selected. Pre-approved basically means they pulled a soft inq and on that report you met their crtieria for issuing the card. When you apply they will pull a different CRA...if the second CRA is the same or better (ie, if you continue to meet the criteria discover established before sending you the pre-approval) you will get the card. If the second CRA does not meet the criteria against which the first CRA was measured, however, you're denied. Pre-selected means we got your name and think you might be a person, or a cat, or a dog. In any event we are relatively confident but not altogether certain you are not a gerbil. Would you like to apply?
solzy, I had hubby send the DISCOVER TITANIUM CARD off today. He had to go to the post office anyway to mail a pepsi cap.. we may have won a CASH OPTION $475 on the Pespi Brittany Bottle Caps game. And he FOUND it at the dump. We will know in 4 to 6 weeks.. just in time for SCHOOL CLOTHS. I did not fill in the BT info on the DISCOVER APPLICATION, well I did the amount and then crossed it out. I don't want to get stuck with a higher interest rate if the ZERO is not approved. The last Discover came back .. card and all in 10 days. We will see what happens this time. Thanks for the explantion of pre-approved.. not only informative, but funny as well. Cherie
