I have confirmed that I have 2 files at Equifax. 1 file has my hyphenated name and a different dob, the other my name is not hyphenated and my dob is correct. The second does NOT show my BK filings (2) (without hyphen). The problem is when I recently applied for credit under the one without the bk it came back denied reason: BK. Should I send a dispute letter to the bureau along with a very recent copy of this report, and a copy of the letter for the creditor who denied me and request an explanation? Or should I get them to merge to 2 files and give up an getting any credit any time soon.
