    Hi

I have a friend that husband filed a chapter 13. Their last payment is due 10/08. She would like to know how long after the last payment will they stop taking money from his check. Someone told her it doesn't't alway stop right away. Also in regard to getting a house is a bk 13 discharge after the last payment and then you have to wait 2 years from that discharge date.

I bought my house 2 weeks after discharge of my chapter 13, The garnishment of my pay stopped the month after the last payment was due and the trustee sent me a check for the amount over what was owed.
On another note have them check the accounting on the account, if they were late or the trustee added cost involved in mail cost or any additional fees then the account can go a couple of monthe longer. Here in texas the trustee has a websits so you can check account status

The Ch. 13 trustees are very good about refunding any money you overpay. So any overpayment would be temporary.
