I got a credit card 10 years ago and 3 years ago it went into write off. I live in arizona and I got the card (discovery) when I was in california. They are trying to collect and they are sending me letters to my old PO box in california. In Arizona it is past the 3 year SOL but I need to know if they can use the California SOL which is 4 years. How can I find out which SOL applies to me?

actually, both SOL's apply to you unless arizona's law specifically states that it won't. however, because california's SOL is longer and still current, they will definitely use the california SOL since that is where you opened the account. to my knowledge, the shorter SOL in arizona will not benefit you and creditors would only use the new state's SOL if it were to their benefit, (if the SOL is longer than the original state).
