Thank you creditnetters!!!!!!!!! After less than a year on this site, I have gone from auto loans with 19% or more interest to 7.4% APR. And the 7.4% was only because I took the rebate instead of 0% financing! (Hey, I'm a female) The car dealership said that I could have ANY car on the lot!! I can't thank all of the "regulars" enough on this site. I have introduced several people to the site that are now becoming "regulars, i.e Epitomee. :) Oh, in the past year, I have also obtained a certain gas card, home improvement company card, a VISA card and a huge discount retail store card. The reason I wont name the cards is I am not an idiot. All three bureaus frequent this board, and it is my contention that they use your computer's address and compare it to online disputes, creditnet posts, etc. If you don't know, know you know!!!!!!! Be careful!

Congratulations. Yes I am a regular now. I love this board. I am prime too and this is with Cnets help and yours. I know that I have stressed you out with my phone calls but this credit repair can become obsessive. (lol)

The salesman told me a score of 680 is automatic approval. I was assuming that meant 0% interest.

    Ok, help me understand this:

You're excited bacause you just got approved to pay 7.9% interest on a vehicle that has lost 40% of its value as soon as you drove it off the lot?

The reason most people get into financial trouble is that they simply don't do the math before signing on the bottom line.

Financing a 2003 Expedition is only slightly better than buying a piece of swamp land in Florida.

Believe me, the dealer approving you for the loan wasn't doing you any favors.

How can you make comments about "people's" financial situation when you don't know the circumstances? That seems a bit idiotic to me. To top it off, you make your first post on creditnet as a slam to someone that is happy over a new purchase. Get a life...........

Don't worry about him.. he's obviously a troll. As you can see,he has only 1 post and used it to make such an absurd comment. Dead giveaway.

I would be happy to have a 2003 Expedition! Congrats to you! Enjoy it! Did you get the Eddie Bauer with the DVD player? My kids wanted that one, and of course with some 20's" on it.

Don't let the ignorant bring you down. This board is for people who have pulled themselves together and repaired their credit to the point that they can even qualify for an auto loan. Some folks before this board couldn't even qualify for an used scooter. I still say congrats.

I am one of those folks too and WTG and Congrats! Feels good doesn't it? We also just ordered our new Explorer at about the same rate as you and to quote the quote 2 mths ago I wouldn't have qualified for a used scooter!! Feels good to make progress! Enjoy!

    It wasn't a troll...I was serious.

The original poster tells us that they just finished cleaning up their credit. Obviously, they had money problems in the past.

Instead of doing the right thing and buying a car they could afford, they immediately rush out and finance a car at 8% interest...a car that has immediately lost 40% of its value. That is a terrible financial decision.

I've lurked on this board occasionally, but today was my first post. After reading many posts here, I'm left with this impression:

There are a lot of people who get into trouble with credit. They then come here for help. However, instead of getting help with their real issue, they get help on how to clean their credit up just enough to get back into trouble again.

Here's a clue: You can't afford a vehicle if you have to finance it. However, if financing a car is your only option, you certainly don't go out and finance a brand new car that immediately looses 40% of its value. Do the math. How much does it cost to finance a brand new Expedition over 5 years at 8%. It's financially irresponsible.

Bash me if you wish, but at least my comment is designed to HELP people with credit problems. I'm not just trying to put a band-aid on the problem.

Credit isn't there for you to live beyond your means. It's there to use responsibility. Like it or not, most Americans simply can't afford a new car, even though financing allows them to get one. Later in life, once that Expedition has been taken to the junk yard, they'll wish they still had the $50k they paid for it.

Buy a used car you can afford. Save the extra money so you can pay cash for the next car. That way, you won't have debt problems in the future.

Life isn't that difficult, unless you choose to ignore the obvious.
