Wow! Between the phone & online disputes, I have gotten 25 inquiries deleted from my TU report in under 2 weeks! Fifteen of em came off today! It can be done! Tom
I am sure there are others like myself who would like to read how you approached Trans Union for inquiry disputes. I have read some of your earlier posts, but would love to see it all in one message/Thread. Mike G.
sorry, link did'nt work, but yes I have used it. I'm still waiting for results. there's a place that says "find out how to dispute" if you click on it then the online dispute option will appear. candi
Here it is: www.transunion.com/Personal/DisputeOnline.asp You can order investigations online but you need to reference the number that Transunion gives to your report, and that you can only get by snailmail.
Lizardking--Just be creative on the TU site. There is NO defined spot for disputing inquries in their online forms. However, the forms are flexible enough to let you input whatever data you want. So step thru the process, and put your inquriy data in for dispute.
WTF?? I have about 25 IQ's I need taken off too and I've tried SEVERAL times and time after time TU tells me they don't delete them. What gives??
Re: 25 inquiries deleted!-tmitchell 25 inquiry deletions ???????? I got creative and requested TU to delete my one and only inquiry. My memory somewhat fails me here but I think there was an "Other" box or place for additional comments as part of the credit card account I also was disputing. TU completely ignored my request for inquiry deletion. They did hard delete the credit card account I disputed at the same time. Jim
Re: 25 inquiries deleted!-tmitchell Sorry folks..... I haven't signed on in a few days. When I go to TU's site for disputes, I simply enter the account name and I put "inquiry" in the account # field. I use the "other" reason code and state that I've never done business with the company in question. Also, at the end of the process, you are allowed to add additional info. In this field, I explain that I don't mind legitimate inquires but the FCRA clearly states that items affecting my credit are open to dispute. I also explain that I've recently been declined credit due to excessive inquiries. I then politely ask that they be deleted. Most come off in 1-3 days and I was able to get the 25 off in a span of 2 weeks or less. I say the same things when I call them. Tom
Thank you for the information and tips on how to dispute inquiries from Trans Union. That has been bugging me. I've done well with Experian. Now I've disputed 5 from Trans Union and I'll post when I see some action. I'm also going to try the same approach with Equifax which is by far the report with the most Inquiries. I guess here in CA Equifax is used most often. John
Just got my latest report from TU. I am now down to 7 inquiries remaining out of 41 from about 3 wks ago. My TU score went up from 573 to 586 and the inquiries were the only things that changed. Tom
You are too lucky. I have about that many too and I cant get TU to remove mine. They keep telling me they dont remove IQ's. What gives???
I don't know of a way to dispute INQs online with Equifax. I have been VERY fortunate in my credit repair quest; however, I really haven't done anything different than most of those on this board. Just keep pluggin'! Tom
I tried the same process with Equifax and it does not work. It appears you have to dispute inquiries in writing by mail, or by phone. I'm going to try by mail and see what I can do. John
