ok, heres a dandy.. on my TU report all of a sudden I have 3 new medical collections, all from the same CA (a local one) Im guessing my insurance didnt cover some specialists assistant or something. each one appears to be fairly recent, yet I've heard nothing about them. Im guessing they have incorrect contact info. anyway, how should I proceed with this? 1 big consolidated validation attempt or 3 seperate ones? My luck with medical CA's in the past has shown me that trying to get them to delete any other way is pointless. "we cant delete" "we cant put that in writing" etc..yes, Ive got a positive attitude towards medical ca's ;p I don't care if they try to sue me..the amounts are all sub $50.00 (darnit)
If there that cheap, can't you just pay for deletion? I'm having the HARDEST time with medical collections. These A-holes won't do anything. "Our policy doesn't allow us to fax or mail anything other than a credit card authorization form." They won't delete, wont' do anything but try and steal my money. I'll rot in hell before I pay my CA's one red cent. I gotta get a digital telephone voice recorder.
nah, they are too small for them to care about wasting their energy on deleting (past experience)..and I guess for them to even try to contact me about them too hehe.
I had a CA send me a dunning letter in December for a $548 endodontist (sp?) bill from 5/02. My insurance company had mistakenly denied the claim. We'd moved in the interim and I honestly didn't give it much thought. Called the ins co once after that and they promised to review it again. Fast forward back to the CA notice. I immediately called the ins. co (who will remain nameless for now) and demanded they pay it NOW. Took 2 months of going back and forth- it the meantime idiot CA placed their TL on my TU report. Finally received notice that the insurance company had paid the claim- actually overpaid by $185. Idiots. The endo's office sent me the check for the difference To get to the point, I contacted the endo after they rec'd payment and asked very sweetly if they could pretty please tell the CA to take the listing off of my reports. Hubby and I were looking to close on a mortgage (big lie hehe) and would have taken care of the bill right away had we not moved in not gotten our mail etc. They removed it So, perhaps try calling your ins co and see *why* the claim was denied first of all- I swear they blanket deny everything once.
I have an medical bill with a CA as well (unpaid). Health insurance coverage thru my former employer should have paid but somehow it slipped thru the cracks. To make matters worse, my former employer no longer has that insurance, so it would be tough to get the ins co (or the employer) to pay the claim. Every number that I have been given for the ins co say that they are a referral service, they do not pay the claims, the employer does. Who should I turn to? What should I do? Is this normal? I thought the ins co pays the claims...
I've never heard of that...did you have any sort of premiums deducted from your paycheck? I can't see paying for a "referral service". Most hospitals and medical groups offer that for free. What is the name of this referral/insurance co?
To make matters worse, my former employer no longer has that insurance QUEEN_BEE ================= This don't make no matter: The insurer is still obligated to pay claims for events that occurred during the period that they were the insurer! The END ************************* LB 59
anyway, how should I proceed with this? 1 big consolidated validation attempt or 3 separate ones? mark =============== I'd go for 3 separates. The END ************************* LB 59
