I have 3 entries on my Experian report for the same debt, all 3 of them collection agencies. What is the best way to deal with this? Another collection agency just took the debt and my score dropped 30 points, down to 530 *sob* Every singe time I start to make some headway, I get knocked back down. It is an old telephone bill from Southwestern Bell.

DISPUTE ALL 3...say "I did not have a credit card or loan of any kind with that (name of business)"...

Wait till 10 more CAs Get a hold of this and your score drops another 300 points, then watch the rates soar on all of your loans.!
Typical example of how fico and CRAs work.

Sam, dispute them as duplicates. Send VL to CA's. Set up your paper trail and go for broke.

My husband's EQF report has an orginial creditor and c/a both reporting the same debt (same acct except c/a put 2 new numbers at the beginning) I sent the c/a a dispute letter this past monday. If both agencies are listed do I wait for validation from the c/a and then dispute both with the CRA's? Or mail a validation letter to the orginial creditor? Anyways, on his Experian report it's only the c/a reporting with the notation of original creditor is.....
