Hello Friends... a question Using the free credit expert, its records show 6 inquires for my hubby.. 3 are from January the 11th, 13th, and 18th.. Can I expect these to drop off on the respective July days? Will this make a big difference in his score - currently 733 ? Did I read that inquires stay on credit reports for 2 years ? Do potential creditors consider inquires during the last 6 months or 2 years? Cherie
Hard inquiries remain on your report for 2 years, are visable to anyone who pulls your report, and affect your score. Soft inquiries remain on your report for 1 year, are visable only to you, and do not affect your score.. As far as how far back creditors look at your inquiries, I believe it is 6-12 months depending on the creditors criteria for credit.
Also, MyFICO states that hard inquiries reported only in the past 12 months are calculated into your FICO score.
