After I sent my 30 day dispute letters I have been sitting and waiting, man this is the longest 30 days ever, makes me more nervous, still hoping and praying someone somewhere will qualify us for a mortgage even if nothing does change on our reports the clock is ticking and may comes really soon. Most of my credit lines are so old, I hope they can just fall off ya know...I did read the SOL was 6 years now that is how many years it will be on the report correct? What is it doesn't fall off at the 6 years mark? Am I wishing on a grey cloud here? Need some help...will let you all know when I finally here something from anyone with the CRA's. Thanks...needed to get this stress off my chest....
I am a newcomer here so dont take my word on this. However, I believe the SOL for reporting is 7 years everywhere. The SOL you may be thinking of is the SOL for the creditor to sue you. In your case 6 years.for example the SOL in Florida is 5 years. They will report for 7 but cannot SUE after 5.. Hope this helps.
I know EXCATLY how you feel. I sent out validation letters to the CRA's and some to the CA's on Jan. 13 and 27th and so far I've only received a copy of one original contract, and a printout of a bill from a CA. I got one thing back from EQ where I mistakenly used my PO box and they replied saying they didn't recognize the addy--that I needed to send blah blah blah to confirm identity and then resend the dispute, so I simply retyped the letter using my physical addy and resent it to a different EQ addrss. I've also gotten back 2 undeliverable letters where the addresses are no longer. I've disputed things mostly CRR, but a few online. Hubby tried calling Equifax to have them remove an old address, they said he had to call our "local" reporting agency in Memphis. They wouldn't let him do it on the phone--said to send them a letter. I am waiting and waiting and have yet to hear anything positive. Oh and I sent a dispute CRR to Experian's California address and it was undeliverable. I keep telling myself that I WILL see results, I just gotta hang in there. And I'm not a "the glass is half full" type of person either.
I know what you mean also. Thanks for clearing that up Knoxpk, I understand now, when it falls off the report 7 years after the last reported date? It has been about 2-3 weeks and living overseas I am sure it is taking longer then normal to get anything back so all I can do is wait. I will let you know what happens though, everyone keep smiling who is doing the same thing I am, I know it is not easy!
I believe the SOL for reporting is 7 years everywhere. knoxPK ====================== Some states have less than 7. The END ************************* LB 59
