Well a month ago i found this board and asked for lots of help and this is what happened. I had 39 items on my cr all from 1994 to 1996 all were negative except 1 which was open and never used and repoted as to new to rate so not negative or positive anyways i had like 30 collection accts. and 9 bank loan or cc. today i pulled a new credit report and i only have 9 things left on my cr never disputed the too new to rate account so 8 that i disputed 1 came back verified as mine so i redisputed anyways i called eq and they said all are being deleted so now i have a cr with only 1 item on it LOL and its neither good nor bad no open postive accounts showing yet and cant pull a fico score befor I Started all this my fico was 561 now i have nothing on my cr??? and no score hmmmm anyways in the next month or so i should have 2 things hit on my cr a car loan for 32k and a cap1 credit card any predictions on what my fico score will be or what i should do now to get a good fico i have nothing showing on cr except my name and ss lol and 4 hard inq for buying our new car anyways I want to say thanks I would have not been able to clear all this up with out everyone here... I think the age of the accounts helped too but with out this board none of this would have been possible now i wish i could see a fico so i know how much all this hurt or helped me LOL....

    Best Regards

I think I remember reading something that said you need 6 months of history bofore you can get a FICO score. Try getting a AU from someone with some history on their card.

Congrats on getting all of that stuff off of your report. Now you can start building your credit the right way. Becoming an AU on someone's account is a great way to get things started.

Can you give me some information on how you got things cleared so quickly.

You suggested becoming an authorized user. How does this affect the credit of the cardholder? If I ask a relative who has good credit and a lot of credit cards to be an authorized user on his accounts, how will that affect his credit/score? Is there any chance at all that my poor credit history would reflect back on his credit?

(Oops. Is this considered hijacking a thread?)

It would not affect his credit. You're being added to his account, not the other way around. As long as the account is in good standing (no lates) it'll help your report.

Would he call the credit card companies and ask that I be added? Would the credit card companies look at my credit. Would I get an actual credit card with my name on it?
    Thanks!

Yes, he would contact the credit card company and request that you be made an AU. I believe it would depend on the credit card company whether or not they look at your credit, however being that you are only an AU, and in no way responsible for the account, your credit shouldn't have any effect on whether or not they will add you or not. Yes you would get an actual card with your name on it.

34 items! dang. Can you let me in on your secret? I have dates similar to those you are reporting from 94-96.

    Did you send validation letters?

Dispute letters? Did you Dispute them all in the same letter? Week? how long did it take?

Could you send me a sample of one of your letters.

    Thanks in advance!!

From first hand experience, yes you do need 6 months of history on one account to obtain a FICO score. When my report was clean as a whistle, no inquiries, 1 account 2 months old, no one would give me anything. Finally I tried to refinance my car and was told they could get a FICO on me. I called EQ and they said that I need 6 months of history before it would generate a score.

If you have no credit an AU would be the way to go. A new car loan reporting isn't going to help. You need something with History.
