!! I have a $35.00 medical collection recently placed on my CR. It is a balance which absolutely was not known about, from an x ray lab. The collection agency Professional Adjustment of Southwest Fla. never contacted me until after they put on my report "skip bad debt attorney to collect". All this for $35.00. I tried a pay for deletion letter. The collection agency flat said no. What recourse do I have, if any? This is ridiculous that this will be on my report for 7 years. A paid collection is not going to improve my FICO at all. Can any of you experts PLEASE tell me how tho get these scumbags to remove this off my report? What if I contact original creditor? Thanks in advance!!!!!

Within 5 days of placing this on your report did they send you a written communication? :)

    Here's a couple of hints:

    809. Validation of debts [15 USC 1692g]

    (a) Within five days after the initial communication with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt, a debt collector shall, unless the following information is contained in the initial communication or the consumer has paid the debt, send the consumer a written notice containing --

    2) The term "communication" means the conveying of information regarding a debt directly or indirectly to any person through any medium.

I should clarify that I have been using Privacy guard everyday for bumpage. It was then that this appeared. I called EQ and asked them who this was on my report(information was vague). EQ did get right on it and then this agency sends me a letter looking for $35.00........Now I need my next step.

C/A is stating that I owe X ray lab 35.00. SO they are validating. Problem is I never knew about the fee that the insurance didn't cover since I am now divorced and dont live at the address such a bill could have been sent. My credit report now states: Seriously past due date / assigned to attorney, collection agency, or credit grantor's internal collection department . This is just insane over a $35.00 bill that I would have paid. Should I pay O/C and then dispute with big3?
