I got the offer. here are the pertinents... already a customer with Cap1, pay off balances monthly (sometimes takes me two months), have a credit limit of 26K with them, no lates ever and a FICO of 755. Hope that helps. GaryL
I got back the reasons for my rejection today. They checked both exp and eq and put the reason as 1. ratio of balances to cl too high 2. too many active accounts, 3. excessive number of bank card accounts. These seem somewhat legitimate because I guess they only want you to be using a very small percentage of your available cl. Still, since they shouldnt have sent the pre-approved 4.99 form if they didnt plan on honoring it. I'm a little disappointed but I mainly applied for this card because of its ultra low rates. At least they didnt insult my by trying to send a card with a toy limit.
