I recently did online disputes with TU,EQ,and EXP. All 3 agencies deleted 4 negative items from my report. At the time I disputed, my FICO was 662. I checked again this month and my score is now 629? WTF happened? Could this be related to the auto loan that my husband and I took through Capital One? We got the loan in Oct. and the Nov. score on FICO is 629. Shouldn't the number have increased considering the deletions? Thanks for reading. JC
Deletions can drop a score. I know that sounds weird, but frequently baddies are older items, and history counts for a lot. This is why the perpetual mantra: don't worry about your FICO score during the repair phase. It will fluctuate and not necessarily in ways you expect.
Plus you could find that in a month or two that is jumps way higher. Sometimes it seems that there is no rhyme or reason, just in hang there.
