I have a 492 Transunion Score reported by Identity Guard. How Good or Bad is this???

It is basically the bottom of the barrel, you will have a tough time even getting a secured card, I have been there, so I know of what I speak. To get that low, I had about 20 negatives per report, so you must be the same position. Get to disputing items, you can no get anywhere with that kind of score.

Actually, I don't have nearly that many. I do have a BK from 1998 though. I think that's what's dragging my score so far down.

You could try for a Capital One Secured Card, and see what you get. You may have to go for one of the cards that promises a 99.9% approval rate, but be wary of the high fees that accompany your approval. Just look around and see what you can do, or if someone would do it for you, get a co-signer who has good credit to sign you up for a unsecured card.

Is it possible to apply to Cap 1 in a general way and be told what you qualify for instead of applying for a particular card?

OK...that score from IdentityGuard is a joke. I just got my mortgage..and I have my scores from about 20 days ago..TU was 661. But IG gives me 438...that score is full of hockeypoo. The only change for me was one inquiry (mortgage) and 1 collection agency deletion...so don't despair.

Tell me, do you know what your other 2 scores are? (Ex and Eq?)

I would assume so, but you may want to give them a call first or read the "fine print" wherever it is on their website. Good luck!

This is what I cant figure out. My Experian is nearly 699 so why is this so freakin low????? My Equifax is also high. I wouldnt think there is that much difference between the 3. I also have a perfect payment history and no BK. I makes no since. I guess I'm going to be doing a lot of disputing. Although I heard its hard through TU. Any Advice?

Basically, this just proves my point..it's so far off, it's not worth considering. You might call as some have here...I'm not sure how much more accurate that will be. What I've read doesn't seem to comfort me that the figure you call and get is any more accurate.

Once again, I gotta think that TU is ignoring the law. I mean I have pretty clear proof that my score was not what they presented to me...which does not comply with the law. Then, their refusal to dispute inquiries...yup.....they have some pretty blatant law issues going on, IMHO

Transunion is my worst!!!!!!!!!!!! I got my updated report yesterday and my FICO score is 545 and that is without FCNB visa,FCNB mastercard and Spegiel not being reporting on this report. These three positive tradelines are on other two reports. I called FCNB and had a "fit" and they said they have reported monthly to all three agencies and would follow-up why it wasn't being reported with TU. I didn't make any attempt to call TU because I have one negative left that I have disputed repeatly and always comes back "verify" and I want some "leverage" with my next "certified letter" to them. I would liked to know my score after the 3 other tradelines are added. Then I will call Sears back and have them to reconsider my approval because of error in report. BTW, this is why I requested a report from TU because Sears turned me down because they pulled my TU report. GRRRRRRRRRRR!!
