I had a collection account on EQ for $5, if you can believe it, from a medical provider. I checked my CR today to find that it was gone and caused my score to jump 11 points! Woohoo!

I just have to ask this: Who was the CA? I would have been tempted to send a check for $6 and call every day, demanding my dollar back. LOL

Oh man that's a good idea.

I can't imagine they would send a $5 debt to collection! I have a $20 obligation to Earthlink floating around, they like to send letters but no more.

If they try to put that on my CRs I'll fight em to the death!

I don't remember where I heard this but either TU or Exp, have a supposed policy of not reporting collection accts of less than $50.

The CA was Apex Asset Management. I'm really suprised the score jumped so much, esp since the dola was 7/98. Actually, even that was wrong, since I know the last time I saw this doctor was when my daughter was born in 1996.
I have another outstanding account from the same CA that they verified, durn it. But it will be dropping off soon anyway since the dola is 3/96.

Too bad Equifax doesn't. I have a frigging $25 collection on there, and the thing is sticky. Equifax gets the CRRR dispute from me each time, runs a "Consumer Investigation" lookup on the file, then changes nothing. Equifax also never responds to me on this.
I hit the CA with a validation letter, they haven't responded after 40 days, I now have another dispute sent in to Equifax.

Must be Transunion. Experian had me for a $25 collection, two calls and a fax to the CA... the problem was resolved.. account gone mysteriously after I asked them to prove it.

I have a $20 paid med coll on my equifax report. I didn't even owe the money, but had to pay to get my house. It is with CBC Services, basically an equfax affiliated collection agency. I am going to try to have it removed.

i had a 179$ collection deleted 2 days ago and my score stayed the same. they however changed my address the same day. its possibly my score went up and back down in one day. but very frustrating to get a deletion and nothing on the score.

My wife has a $5 collection that I have spent $10 on CRRR fees so far. They even made a feeble attempt to validate this.

    Send in the 6.00

Call daily to get your 1.00 back. Offer to do a
    "check by phone"

After 6 months, offer to settle for 0.75 and mark their account as "settled for less than original balance" haha!

I have also heard that some of the bureaus do not report accts less than $50. I would suspect EX. Why? I have a $41 collection on EQ that is not on EX but is on TU.
