I have been battling Experian forever on 5 collection accounts they refused to re-investigate. 4 were duplicates of the same account and one was a collection the oc couldn't validate. 5 were deleted yesterday and all I gained was 5 friggin' points? My score 6 months ago was 570 on Experian, one of these accounts was sold to a new ca who reported it 3 times. My score dropped form 570 to 510, I get all those deleted plus one more and go from 516 to 570? Lord have mercy, this is depressing.

Always remember the age of the accounts. Even if they were bad, if they were some of the oldest accounts on your file, than the increase will be less because now your age of credit history is lowered when they are deleted.

I re-checked my report and it looks like there is two reasons my score may not have gone up as much as I expected. My new Fashion Bug card started reporting yesterday also and I had a new inquiry from the company working on my mortgage. I wonder how many points those were good for? The ca accounts were not that old so that wouldn't have made a difference. I have plenty of good credit that goes way, way back and should have offset the ca's being taken off.
