Save your money, for now, and wait to hear from your friend/mortgage broker. The score he pulls is the one that will count as far as getting your mortgage rate. My guess is that you're looking at 550-territory. I'd skip the FICO and get to work on cleaning up your credit. (good luck dealing with AFNI).
We remove AFNI like clockwork insofar as we've litigated against them and know in house counsel. That said, it is still not going to help with those charge-offs. If you pay Discover (in full) and send a goodwill communication, they'll delete. Capital One will eventually go away if paid but, it will take a year or so. Really, you need to pay these insofar as you have virtually no shot at removing much with the exception of Anderson Financial Network. That still won't do the trick. However, if you pay these, they'll stop reporting as past due which will help your scores. Thereafter, you will need some positive account tradelines. I'll get flamed for this but, you will need "aged" tradelines in order to elavate your scores to the threshold marks most lenders require.
Ok heres the biggest problem i jus got into it with my mom Those charge offs for Capital One and Discover and Chase bank are cards I never even used!! Or had in my hands!! They are from my mom using my information to buy stuff she says she needed I just go into a heated i mean heated arguement with her over this she has no credit and just filed bankrupt and has been doing this all my life and now I got a friend that can get me a house and i probaly dont have the credit score for it because of this. I am sick now I'm in her house and want to get the hell away from her! Her house has my name on the lease so she cant kick me out but the realisation of the negative effect really really ticks me off. Am wrong for being this angry?? I told her this mourning its usually the kids who mess up their parents credit not the other way around. Am I wrong for this?? What can I do I want to cry because I feel my mom has messed up my life!!! I am now 27 yrs old. Plz Help!! I am so serious about this, and this is the BOLD truth. I have just gotten my first credit card Imagine Gold that I applied for and It only has a 300$ limit This is my first credit card that I myself actually applied for SINCERLEY I never even had those other cards in my hands all my life. I wish I could get a card with that much credit so I could hurry up and get out of here that day!!! when I was in school I worked offshore as a merchant marine and she must have used the applications in the mail to get a credit card in my name!
I think you could have legal action against your mother if you were so inclined. Probably not the best situation, but if she did what you said she did, that's illegal. Of course, it makes Thanksgiving awkward.
Fill out an ID Theft Affadavit and send it to the credit reporting agencies. They will have to block those accounts pursuant to the FCRA. In addition, contact the creditors and instruct them as to what happened. That should remedy a large portion of what is damaging you. You will still need tradelines though . . .
This is interesting. Just last night I was looking at my scores through TU (TrueCredit.com) and noticed that my paid-but-charged-off Capital One was no longer reporting to Equifax. My score went up about 80 points! (Yes, i know it's a FAKO) I paid it all off in Oct. 06. I assumed it was a glitch. Could it be that they are going to stop reporting to all the CRAs? If so, This is amazingly good news! (I am just about to apply for a mortgage)
They may and even if they don't, you should be able to dispute it off. They generally to not respond to older "paid" charge offs.
dispute Cap 1 paid charge offs? Apex, Are you saying that sending a dispute letter to Crap1 generally results in paid CO's being removed? What grounds is best for disputing a paid account?
