3 months of work down the drain I DVed a couple of accounts with Asset after they dunned me, got only one of the green cards back, and they almost immediately posted both accounts on my CR for EX and TU, soooo... now the original OC is on my CRs AND the two collection accounts...ugh...not sure what to do now... ive been so intensely focused on all of this for the past three months, i may just take a break
I'm nearly in the same situation as you. Been working on mine for a couple of months and have AA as a CA. I haven't DV'd them YET. From what I have read they are a PITA. I have 2 with them and both are past the 5 yrs to collect in my state but, within the SOL (7) year to report. What did your letter from them state?
Dont' give up yet! Keep fighting! Did you receive any responses to your DVs? I don't mean the green cards; did they send you any validation at all? I would dispute the CR tradelines at this point. If the CAs have not vaildated your debt yet, you have a case here. You must DV them again, make sure you BOLD the print of SECOND REQUEST. I would also DV the OC for these accounts, make sure you hit all angles of the reporting on you CRs. I know it is discouraging at times, but hang in there. Follow the process and you will make progress. Keep in mind, you probably have a good chance of the CA not reporting if you work out a repayment of the debt. You may have to live with the OC reporting, but you may get the CA tradelines off your CRs.
Don't give-up. Repairing your credit isn't going to be easy. And it's not going to happen over night. It's going to take awhile. After all it took time to ruin your credit. If you take a break the hole you're in will only get bigger. So, keep going at it and in time you will be in a good place.
