50 Point loss for paying?????

    2*I have 2 more accounts that are charged off with collection agencys, so what should I do?

    << Did they change the date of last activity? Maybe when you paid it the updated the date to last month.

    The CRA told me no, but who no's since I can't can see the dola on my Credt Expert report.

    The reporting clock runs from the commencement of delinquency date -- paying doesn't restart it.

    You're right though, paying doesn't change your score, don't pay without an agreement to delete the TL in writing and upfront, otherwise you're just throwing good money at a bad TL; paid or unpaid -- still a bad TL in the end.

    Don't take this the wrong way, but the only way to actually know the real info is to order a report from each of the CRA's individually. The combined reports sites like Credit Expert aren't always going to show you exactly what you need. And in my honest opinion, one is best to get a paper copy from each of the big three at least once a year and keep all the copies just in case anything decides to have a different date.

    Just a thought.

    I ordered my report from Myfico and it shows a 50 point loss since the last time I ordered it. (2 weeks ago) The only difference is the account that is now paid. I don't get it.
