Wow... I just went on-line to Providian to check things out on my Visa Gold card and noticed that they raised my limit $500! First they gave me a $100 increase for my 1 year anniversary in June. Then they charged me a $59 annual fee that I was unsuccessful in getting reversed. Now a $500 increase. Interesting....
Why is it interesting? Annual fee reversals are common and you got stuck with it. Retention should credit you.
O.k. just got off the phone with Providian. Didn't call retention but called the number on the back of the card. Talked to a nice rep and gave her the story on how none if my cards have annual membership fees...blah blah blah. Result? Fee waved....end of story!
