I am not really sure about that, I would imagine that they can't be current, because I don't think that you could yeild a score like that, although I am not sure. I believe that the magic number is just 640 !
When I was looking at GMs, I also was told by a dealer here in Florida, that the number was 640. I was surprised when he said it, but that is what he said.
Please let me know if you do purchase something through GMAC. I am particularly interested in this because I just purchased a vehicle through my local Chevrolet Dealer. He initially ran me through GMAC with a score of 653 and I had some incorrect information reporting on my credit report and told him that I had documentation to show that the items had been paid off or were to be deleted. I was initially turned down. When they tried me for a different car, both the dealership and GMAC ran another credit report. The dealership said that he could get me 2.9% apr and give up the rebate. Well, I wanted the 0%, but took the former becaude according to the finance guy at the dealership this was all he could get me. I thought that it sounded like a good deal-at first. The dealership tried to sell me GAP insurance for approx. $470 dollars (my insurance company quoted me $25). I think that I might have been swindled by the dealership! Please let me know what you do. Thanks Sirrowan
It may be different for this round of 0% financing but I remember reading the tiny print on an ad last fall and the magic number was 750. I really must ask....if the salesman or the finance guy tells you it's 640, 680, or 1,543,342.....do you REALLY believe them? These guys make money when they lie so why would they tell you the truth?
It's not a question of whether I believe them or not a freind of mine got a 2002 Denali with GMS discount for 41,000, with 0 % interest and she asked the salesmen who she happens to be really good friends with, what the magic number is and he told her 640. I am going to try and get the same truck, I will let you know what happens ?
