7 year clock

    **They sell the account, each time it is sold to another collection company it starts your seven years over again. So what they are doing is legal. Now there are ways to get it completely removed from your credit due to its age.**


    I read this on another board. Is this true?

    Sorry about that I hit the submit button a little too fast.

    A CA will try just about anything including in trying to re-start the clock on a debt. That they cannot legally do.

    Thus the final part of your question is yes, you can have the aging part disputed.

    I'm sure one of the regulars here will give you a better explanation than mine. :cool:
