7 years? date of last activity

When comparing CRA files from 12/1999 and 9/2000 I noticed that an account deliquent since 12/1993 had been updated with a NEW 'reported date' and 'date of status' -- Experian and new 'last date of activity' from Equifax. How did this occur and can I dispute this since the account was scheduled to go off record in 12/2000? klg

Is the new entry in the name of the same creditor?

The entry is exactly the same except for the change in dates.
