My husband is serching for a card with a "high" limit in order to transfer a couple of balances. By far his equifax score is the highest at 707. Choosing from the lenders that only pull equifax, who usually assigns the highest CL with a score in the low 700's? Thanks,Janet
From my experience, your credit score never determines *how much* you'll be approved for. It just helps in determining whether you'll be approved at all. As far as how much you'd get, they tend to look at your past credit cards.. how much you have on them, and how much you put on your application as your income. Credit lines are then increased over time.
Maybe I need to get BofA to look at my report for limits!! At one time they were one of my highest limit cards, now they're second lowest! Even Wal*Mart is higher than BofA.
