HSBC tends to pull Experian (esp in NY).
I went for an unsecured CC because I had an EXP score of 740.

They pulled EXP but I was turned down! because of no other revolving credit cards over $1000 limit on my report (Must have a comparable card already.)
So make sure you meet this qualification before applying. Simply a great score is not enough.

Despite having scrubbed my report (thanks in part to this site) and rectifying all installment loan payment histories you can't get the card unless you have a card/

The old adage" You can't have the job becuase you don't have any experience. But how can i get any experience if I don't have a job".

Off to securerd card land for a year I guess. D#mn.

But if you meet these qualifications and have a good EXP score this is indeed the one HSBC tends to pull.

"I pity the foll who messes with my credit."

Well, if you have a good score on EFX, citibank doesnt care that you dont have comparable cards..
Ok.. maybe they do, but you shouldnt have much of a problem getting something over $3,000 with a good score. Then there's the potential of increases every 6 months.

    Here is a interesting idea...

we all know that HSBC, bought HouseHold, right? So, I'm thinking, If I can get a HSBC card, then I might be able to merge them in a few months..... have a high CL, and merge the accounts...

in your situation, perhaps you should apply for a HH card, eventually it will become HSBC. (or at least HSBC owned.)

Good score, lack of history.............maybe AMEX, Cap1 should be a gimme (if you get a shitty limit, planetfeedback 'em), maybe backdoor to MBNA. Do a little searching before you proceed though.

Hmm?? If the CRA's update HH accounts to HSBC, maybe FICO scores of HH holders will increase, as HSBC is not SubPrime...

From what I read, HSBC plans to keep Household independent other than combine some back-office functions and cross-marketing some products.

I just got approved for a $5000 HSBC platinum card with a FAKO of 688. I had a couple baddies from last year and 96/97.
