When it gets too much for you and you think you aren't getting anywhere, go back and look at your old credit reports. I did that this evening and between my husband and I we have had 75 items deleted from our reports. Our scores still suck, but we are not in the 400's anymore, that is something to be thankful for.

These items were a mixture of bk accounts about 50% of them) collection accounts, and public records. Last year when I started this I decided I was going to do this honestly and not lie, that got me nowhere. I then offered all these companies payment for deletion, they refused, I paid and disputed it as not mine until most are gone. All but one collection on our reports is paid, 95% of them are medical collections.

Yes, I have lied, am I proud of myself? Hell no. I just don't understand why I have to be punished for things that happened 4 and 5 years ago. I have several credit cards and auto loans, all paid in the last two years and never a single late. Do you think that matters to companies who pull my credit when I apply? Another hell no. I have done my time, I have tried to make it right and it didn't help me in the least.

I must stop myself, here I went a ramblin'. Anyway, good luck to you all, and remember that there is hope. If we can climb out of a credit hell where our scores were all in the 480's then anyone can.

Ha! I wouldn't say that, I have been flying by the seat of my pants since I started this. I have sent the most moronic of validation letters, the stupidest disputes, etc. You get the picture. Some of these were probably pity deletions because they thought I was retarded.

At first I disputed a lot of items as included in bk, those are still haunting me one year later. I have made so many mistakes and I am a big weenie at heart, I will never sue any of the credit bureaus and collection agencies for all of their violations because this stuff IS mine and I don't want to be made a fool of in court.

samiam. I was just thinking, it sounds like you are climbing out of a pit that you do not wan to get back into. Many of us do not discuss how our perceived "needed fabrication" should be an end to a menas that gives us a fresh start. Yes climbing out is hard, but we need to make a conscious effort not to fall back into the pit we have come out of or are comming out of. I know I came fron 400 to 700 and after one more deletions the solid eight hundres. What a pit I had to climb mine was fast and furious ( about 5 months)need to get a home loan sothat me and my kids could have a place of our own.
Yes all the ends did "justify the menas but I will be conscious of not getting into the trap again. just a thougth:0)
a sober toast to you and all who have climb and climbing :0))))

Tony, I will never, ever let this happen again. I pay the bills first, if there is anything left that is fine, if not we will make it somehow.

I got a new car after bankruptcy, 22% interest from Household, I eventually let it go back rather than pay that. I got a Ford loan a year and a half ago, put several thousand down and got 11% financing (this was with the scores in the 490's), I bought another new car from them in Feb. scores in the 550's and got 2.9%. People with better credit than me are paying them higher interest rates. I got in with them, proved I would not make them sorry and now I have it made. They are one of the few companies that have really cared about us.

Thanks for the good thoughts, it is appreciated!

    Dear Iam,

I see a lot of humility from you. The most important ingredient needed to avoid falling back into a mess.

I'm proud of you and your attitude and personally vote YOU most likely to succeed.

    Great Job,

Thank you, that truly did cause me to tear up, my scores are way down from last month, all of my secured loans, a new credit card, and my car loan have begun to report and it hurts to see them that low again.

I struggle with my conscience every day about what I have done, but I am getting into my mid-thirties, we have nothing to show for our lives. No home of our own, nothing that really matters when it comes down to it. It just isn't fair, but who ever said life was fair?

I was upset tinight because I purchased all our scores and saw how they had dropped and what that collection agency has done to us. I decided to go back through it all to see what I have accomplished and was amazed at what had been done. I expect the scores to get back up the high 500's low 600's as soon as these new accounts wear off.

Truly, when you get discouraged, just look back at what you have done so far, really boosts you up.

As for the Lexington letter, I hate to say it, but some of my early letters were that cheesy.
