Can you believe it??? My hubby took a page out of my book and called them both up today and told them he wanted a better rate or he was cancelling the cards. BOTH gave him 9,9%!!!! I didn't think subprime lenders ever went that low. *I* don't have a rate that low...lol! I was very impressed, but also had to chuckle when I asked why he didn't ask for a cl increase at the same time (I think one of them is at $400...lol) and he said he didn't want to push his luck and would just call back in a couple of months.

9.9, though...who would have believed it with those lenders?

Wow, I just called and I'm at 19.98 with MBNA and they graciously agreed to lower it to 16.99 tonight!!!

As soon as I lock in my mortgage I'll begin to do some serious looking around.

I posted a similar story several months ago. I called them to cancel. At the time I got the card, they were the only ones willing to give me one. Anyway, they waived all fees and annual fees and gave me the 9.9% also. So, I kept it. As George would say, it's a toy card, but what the hell, it pays for the gas.

THE DEFINITION OF A "TOY" CARD...A NEW CARD
ISSUED @ 80% LOWER THAN YOUR CURRENT LOWEST CREDIT LIMIT!!!

My CHASE was $5,000~~~STATE FARM gave me $1,000!!!

If your LOWEST limit is $1,000 and you got a $400 card...THAT'S NOT A "TOY" CARD!!!

Actually, George, my hubby's highest limit is with DMB at $9,990 and his next highest limit is $6,500 with the KMart Platinum, so its pretty safe to say that this $400 card is definately a toy card. He's not doing bad at all for having a 4 yr. old bk 7 :)

On the other hand, DMB has him at 12.9%...lol.

Hey II hav e had an Orchard account which started off as a 9.0% and has never changed..I thought it was a mistake when the y sent the offer in the mail to me..9.0 ?? ORCHARD ?? Better than most lenders out there now a days..But just 2 weeks ago I recieved an offer from HouseHold for the typical 18.9%..ISo u know what i do.. I accept each invitation from Household or Orchard that I recieve every 3 months and then ask them to combine the cards into the one with the 9.0%..And so far I have had 3 cards combined giving me credit limits of $2800 on that one card. ..Just recieved my new Household card in the mail last night and I will wait about 3 months and do the same giving me $3200..I wonder when they will catch on
