creditnetters, I am still in state of shock! Posted last night about my last 2 collections going bye-bye. I now have only paid tax liens on EX. Last night my CE score was 631. I know from what I've read here that the score sometimes lags 24 hours behind the deletions. Well, I'm reading the boards this morning and see the usual thread about CE being down for the weekend maintenance game, so I wander on over to see what's up and .............................. BAM! Talk about "kicking it up a notch"! 730 - 99 points overnight! Man, am I ever stoked! Thank you one and ALL! Started the journey April 2002. April 2002 - 613 Sept 2002 - 730
Smogtek, Congratulations! Sounds like it's coming along well! I'm going to throw a caution out to you just in case you're planning or needing to use that new EX score shortly. You might want to have a banker pull your EX report and compare the score to the one you're getting on CE. We did this last month and were very disappointed. One of our EX reports has 2 paid state tax liens from about 3 years ago. These are the ONLY derogs, no lates, nothing else negative, utilization under 20%, about 30 positive tradelines (several new), 6 inquiries. CE showed score of 738. The bank pulled EX for us and the score was 680!!! It appears that the liens somehow were not figuring in on the CE scoring. In contrast, our other CE report (lienless) showed an EX score of 723 and the bank pulled it on the same day. It was right on the money...723!! This is just FYI, your mileage may vary. DemPooches
Yes, they do. The report we see online and the one we got from the bank were identical. The scores differed by 58 points. DemPooches
Thanks everyone, I'm not planning on applying for or buying anything other than a home. And yes, kbanger, I am currently strategizing. If everything works out, I should lose my last derogs on TU by the end of next week. The paid tax liens are on my EX hard copy as well as my CE report. I'm thinking about buying my paper score next week from EX just for comparison purposes. I'm going to dispute them on accuracy issues; dates, amounts, etc and see what happens. Maybe I'll get lucky. If not, CHOD is coming. Reminds me of that old movie C.H.U.D. (Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers). Actually, that sounds like a good name for the CAs and CRAs! EQ, on the other hand, is giving me nothing but grief. I'm going to renew my efforts against them this week and see what I can do. I'd sure love it if we had an expatriate CRA employee here to give us some "tips". Wouldn't that be great?
Great job, smogtek...I know you have been working long and hard on this and it is finally paying off for you. Plus mortgage interest rates are at their historic lows...go shopping for your house ASAP and try and lock in that 6.03% mortgage! Good luck and best wishes! clc
Not just yet clc. Still have to a get a @#$%&* judgment off EQ and then I will go for the house. I'm getting there. I just hope prices and interest rates hang on for another 2 months. Could not have gotten this far without all the help and encouragement found on creditnet.
