A few days ago I logged on to Chase to pay off my remaining $380 balance (oh joy!!!), and guess what popped up?

    A consumer survey!

I didn't really have the inclination, but I went ahead & answered their questions about my experience with their website and service quality. They also asked if I could consider Chase for future credit services?

    NOPE!!!!

In the text area provided for additional comments, I explained why I would withhold future business (credit & non-credit related) from them. It took them 2 years to increase the initial CL from $2K in 11/99 to $2.5K in 12/01. In 10/00, I requested a CL increase in order to BT my DMB balance. They refused because of a negative that was due to fall off in less than 1 year.

Meanwhile, DMB have increased my CL from $4K (5/99) to $11.7K (10/01) and Juniper offered me a $5.5K CL right off the bat (3/02).

I'll keep all 3 in my wallet because they benefit my score. But from now on, I'll charge everything & pay it off in full when the statement comes.

I guess everyone's experience is not the same. I also cannot explain why they declined me for a Gold, only to approve me for a Platinum a couple of months later.

I asked them for a credit increase before I even got the card. They approved & increased it by $2K.

As for APR, I recently posted that Chase "R" has lowered mine by almost one third.

    Bottom line: Started with a $10K-limit card @ 12.2% APR. Now it's a $12K-limit card @ 8.24% APR.

They also offered a 1.9% BT for 6 months (which I took), and added a $35 courtesy credit just to make me happy.

Looks like they want my business. Well, they've earned it.

    Saar,

    Their solicitation letter said:

Not everyone deserves a card like the Chase Platinum MasterCard. It's designed especially for Chase customers who are responsible with their credit. People who pay their bills on time. People who spend their money wisely. It's these special people who deserve to pay less for a credit card that gives them more. If you are one of these people, you are invited to apply for the Chase Platinum MasterCard.

Is it easier to apply for a different card rather than ask for a CL increase? Not that I need it, but I look at it as a reward for good behavior, lol.

I fit that profile, can't they see that?! Oh well. I guess I flunked the profitability model.
