A dilemma

I pay child support to my ex through the state. If I am 30 days late the state reports me to the CRAs. I am entitled to an abatement of my child support during the summer when my son is with me. By court order, I am only responsible for half the daily child support for the days he's with me.

Here's the dilemma. My ex has to submit the paperwork for this and hasn't. Until he does that it just shows me as late for the abated amount that I didn't pay. The state is now threatening to report me to the CRAs unless I pay the whole amount of the support. The way it appears there is no recourse for me to exercise the order without taking my ex and possibly the state to court. Until that time I will have this on my credit report.

Has anyone heard of this before?

Just an update... I did get ahold of a case manager that noted the account and is fixing this so it doesn't go to a CRA. She agreed that I can't be penalized due to the abatement not being honored.
