I thought it might be a good idea to send CITI a quick email and a fax to CREDIT DISPUTE dept. requesting that they update the balance on my Plat. Sel card. It shows 14k, from Sept. It has been at 0 for over three months, but strangely no updates. On the flip side, two newer citi cards that I have with 0% bt's that I couldn't pass up had about 8k total on them, but were showing 0 balances. I figuered that in a worst cas scenario, they would update all my accounts, but I'm still better off because the total is 8k vs. 14k. You can all guess what happened..... That's right, now all the balances show, they updated the new cards to show the 8k balance, but somehow didn't get around to updating the account that went from 14k to 0. So another 15 fico points down the toilet. This is such fun. I think David was on to something. I need to get a new hobby.
Wolverine, could you please post that Citi fax number. I got it from CITI last year when I was having problems but have since lost it. I too am experiencing strange [non] updates. Worse still, every few month Experian reports it as "closed by consumer". I just noticed this morning it's showing a huge $17k balance, and a huge monthly payment of about $1,200 (because technically the balance is higher than our limit. This sucks because it's not supposed to have a preset limit, but every dollar over the "posted limit" gets reported as part of the month payment.) I know! I know! I'm whining, but DAMMMMMN! I check the CRAs often and noticed a 30pt drop! and this is the culprit. That number please!
I don't have it handy today. Will post monday a.m. Anybody else noticing that citi and att aren't updating. Maybe a flurry of PFB's would get some attention. It's certainly a pain to be forced to file a dispute every time you want your balances updated.
I have two CITI accounts. Both opened 10/01. Both have updated twice on TU and EQ. Every two months they update it appears. Nothing on EX for Citi cards, they do not report to them for me.
CITIBANK FAX 1-301-714-5958 (DON'T KNOW IF IT WORKS...I KNOW THE CRA'S CHANGE PHONE NUMBERS TO KEEP YOU GUESSING...NOT SURE ABOUT BANKS)
I also have 2 citibank cards. Both are reported and updated regulary on equifax and transunion. But only one with a 10k limit was reported with a 0 balance in sept on my experian report. Nothing has been updated ever since. I don't complain though since it shows a ZERO balance. Lets hope they never update my experian report.
