I have an account on credit report listing by original creditor, but a collection agency is sending me a settlement offer in the mail, I have asked for validation before from the collection agency no response whatsoever and now its a new collection agency, but its listed on cr by original creditor. so my question is....do i even bother disputing with this collection with the collection agency, or just dispute with the OC? Thanks for suggestions and replies.
On my CR, I had 2 accounts listed under the OC. When I requested validation from them, they forwarded it to the CA. That may be the case if you request validation from the OC
Well the account is currently with a new ca, first letter I ever received from them and in the letter they are offering me a settlement, (which i find strange), but on CR the OC is reporting, I have previously disputed this with the CRA's and got no where real fast, it continues to stay on report, (verified, they say) but I was wondering, should I even bother sending this CA a demand for validation since they arent reporting on CR and just send it to OC since they are the ones that will be able to remove/delete the account on CRA? thanks
If you don't send the CA a validation letter there is nothing stopping them from putting the TL on your cr right there next to the OC's Send the validation.
