I have a citibank account -- that claims to be included in a bankruptcy. I HAVE NEVER FILED FOR BK - but somehow - Experian is able to verify this account. I sent a letter to Experian - my acct is notated as acct in dispute - reported by subscriber - debt included in or discharged. BUT HOW?? I was a co signer for a repo that is listed twice by Chrysler -- same account with 2 different account numbers. Experian seems to have verified both - however Equifax and Trans deleted. Any advice on how I can get these accounts removed. I really want to buy a house (by September) and these accounts are holding me back. Please help!! -- Thank you in advance. Slowyne
I would ask EXP for procedure. They'll run you around at first. You have to be persistent. You can also call and get someone in the special handling dept. They are hard to get. A trick I did was push the button for fraud and then told them I hit the wrong button by mistake. Since they were on the phone with me they handled the problem. You should also tell your mortgage guy this and tell him the if you filed BK it would be on your report. If all else fails...sue them.
You're right - EXP did give me the run around this morning. I'll call back and send them a letter...but I am getting sooo frustrated. This has been going on for months now....ARGGGHHHHHHHH Thanks for the advice... Slowyne
