Hey all. I have a quick question. A friend of mine has a credit report that has
    6 positive (recently open- 6 + - months)
    1 unpaid collection
    one paid collection and
    2 30 days on a mortgage

If she pays that one unpaid collection, how much do you think that it would bump (if at all) her score. She has a 622 CE

Paying this unpaid collection will do NOTHING for her score. She has to try to make them settle with deletion for payment.

    How old is the debt?

If none of the above works and she still feels she needs to pay it, she can dispute it after it's paid and sometimes they don't verify it.

it would probably bump her a bit, once it is gone but she still has to deal with those two thirty days on the mortage..... then she will be really okay... will they give her a courtesy adjustment.

That is what I meant (paying for deletion) sorry I wasn't clear there :) The unpaid collection is from early 99.

The mortgage has been closed a year or so, I did help her draft a sob story letter for them in hopes that will help.

The paid collection on her report at this point is not going anywhere. It is through Ann Arbor Credit Bureau (I have one of these accounts too..fluckers) they used to be the local TU office, and now are just doing collections. They know the game well and will NOT delete a thing. I have also suggested to her that she try and contact the OC on that one and see if they will ask them to pull it.
