This is bizarre. Just yesterday I was watching Mr. Rogers with my kids and thought to myself ... He's been around for a long time. It's going to be sad when he dies...

    flamva,

truly bizarre, because I haven't stopped on that station in a very long time (my child is 7 and TOO mature for those shows) and I stopped to listen to that song as it was going off.

    May he rest in peace.

I feel like I've lost a piece of my childhood. I watched him as did all my sibbies and the kids I babysat. How very sad - he brought so much good to this world. But as long as we remember what we learned and pass it on to our children (or relatives' kids) he'll never really be dead.

He was one in a million, not many cared as much as he did in terms of quality TV for kids. Godspeed, Mr. Rogers!!

Re runs of Mr. Rogers was on our local PBS station until a couple of months ago. I don't have kids, but I watched him every morning. He was always a favorite of mine.

30ft, who will never go down the drain.

It was the lead story on NPR the other day ... I was in the shower listening and (ok, laugh all you want) it brought a little tear in my eye.

This guy was truly goodness wrapped into human form. He was a minister, but never preachy. He talked with children, but never down to children.

Very, very sad. He will be missed -- people like that don't come around too often, sadly.
