I could not help but post- I am in such a good mood today! I am getting ready for a much needed vacation next week (not even the hurricane is going to dampen my mood) and I logged in to check my scores (still a daily ritual after all these years). I hit the 730's!!!!! Finally!!!!! A new high for me (post-bk)!!! To anyone who is struggling and fighting- please, do not give up. I have been there and it is a miserable feeling, BUT- you can do it! You can pull yourself out and move on to better things! Just 6 years ago, I was over my head in debt because of a medical mistake- I spent three months in the hospital because I was mis-diagnosed by the doctor. Medical bills piled on, I was out of school and work, and I was just in my early twenties and on my own. I had no choice but BK. I felt ashamed, devastated, and worthless. But, I pressed on. I started rebuilding, found creditnet, and before long I had credit and my own home. I learned about finances and investing, and I became more responsible than ever with my finances. Now, 6 (and a half) years later, my scores have finally got in the 730's. I have a few prime cards, I am happy with my limits and rates, and I feel like a real person. Don't let it get you down!!! You can work through it and feel good about yourself again. Remember when it actually felt 'good' to pay a bill? Remember when you were not scared to answer the phone? You can do it! I know I am no 'Tony Robbins'- I am definately not a motivational speaker. But, I have been around here for a while and I have received a lot of support and help over the years. I got confidence from seeing others get 'over the hump'. Hopefully this post might help you the way those posts helped me. Good luck, and thanks to everyone! Shawn
Thanks. I have a vacation property (an investment) in Myrtle Beach, SC. We are planning on spending the next week their. Although we are north of the hurricane, I think we wil get some wind and rain. The waves are already swelling pretty high. Cross your fingers!!
You're awesome to take a minute to uplift the spirts of us that are still on the bottom looking up. Thank you. Not a day goes by that I don't feel like giving it all up -- and letting them win. I hope all goes well with your weather.
That's awesome, I can remember when I started with 532 back 02 & in 7 months of CN I jumped up to 735 then to lose it when work got really slow. Now at 597 & back doing my search again.
Congrats, Shawn. I wish I had been to Myrtle Beach, I hear it's nice there. Just be very careful with Frances banging on the coast. Congrats on your scores. I'm glad you're doing well.
