Hello all, The forum has been of great help to me thank you all, I still have questions though. 1) I had a couple of collection accounts going back to 2003 that were paid but were showing as unpaid on my Credit report. I disputed them in the past (before finding this forum) as (paid) and they were corrected on my CR with a verification date on them, I am hoping to dispute them again with remote chance the CA will not verify this time and will stay off my credit report Is it a good strategy to dispute them again? 2) what credit cards can I get With equifax Fico score of 671? Thank you all for your patience and time
#1 - Since the account has been corrected it is now a positive account. Why have it removed? #2 - Be prepared for a fishing expedition. With the current so called credit crisis more and more cc outfits will become very stingy about passing out credit cards, unlesss you go for credit cards that impose annual fees and have predatory loanshark level interest rates.
First of all, a paid collection is not a positive account. It is still a negative. I'd dispute it and see what happens. The worst is that it stays as is, the best that happens is that it's removed. With a 671 score, you should be able to get a decent card with a decent CL and interest rate. Check the cards offered through this site. You should find one that fits your needs.
Ok - but the "Paid off" comment should balance/wash out the "collection" information. If you really truly want to get it off your CRs, dispute them as "not mine". They will drop off while they "investigate", and chances are that the collection agency will not re-verify the account (since you paid it), unless they're one of those that like to keep peoples' credit histories in the toilet.
dispute!!! on what ground? Thank you all for your help. According to FICO score analysis , They still count my paid account as Negative . RE: The planned accounts dispute, My accounts were disputed as paid. so they are (MINE), what are other grounds one my use to dispute the account? Please mention as many as you can Guys you are great, thank you in advance
