Re: A/R for an account closed in '9 Let's play devil's advocate. Perhaps Sears pulled your credit to consider granting you a credit card? This would seem unlikely since these inquiriies are usually coded as PRM. However, they could use this as a defense in court and claim that the inquiry was just coded wrong. Shake 'em down with a P/P letter. Remember you want them to screw up and admit (in writing) they pulled for the wrong reasons. Citing the FCRA and statutory penalties might put them on the defensive. Better to save some ammo for a follow-up letter.

The Sears tradeline is due to fall off in April anyway, and despite its settled factor, is DH's oldest tradeline. It contributes age, if nothing else. I can't go into details about the settlement but I can tell you that they didn't get their money's worth when they peeked at DH's report
Re: Re: A/R for an account closed in '9 Call TU and ask them for the address, look on the BBB's website, check PlanetFeedback, all of these are ways to get an address. I had to do some real digging to get the address and fax number of the legal department, but i just kept digging and digging until I found it.
