I am confused about the legality of the Accord and Satisfaction agreement that can be printed on the back of a settlement check. Some states allow it; some don't. My question is does the law apply to the debtor's state (where the check is written), or the creditor's state (where the check is cashed). Thanks...

    Javan,

Thanks for the link. They didn't spell it out. But, I'm guessing it's the OC's state though...Anyone here know for sure?
