I am confused about the legality of the Accord and Satisfaction agreement that can be printed on the back of a settlement check. Some states allow it; some don't. My question is does the law apply to the debtor's state (where the check is written), or the creditor's state (where the check is cashed). Thanks...
I believe it the state the CA is in. Check out this info.......http://www.faircreditmovement.org/alternatives.htm
Javan, Thanks for the link. They didn't spell it out. But, I'm guessing it's the OC's state though...Anyone here know for sure?
