Thanks to the info from this forum, I've just scored my first victory in my paid collections war. For anyone who is considering paid collection disputes, there is definitely hope! For round 1, I disputed the items below: (These are all about 2-3 years old) HSBC $800, charged off CACH, LLC $800, HSBC account above, paid HSBC $4700, paid Discover, charged off, paid Citibank, charged off paid West Assest Management, a very small paid phone bill. The results: West Management -deleted Cach, LCC -deleted HSBC $4700 -deleted Citibank changed from a negative account to a postive (weird) HSBC for $800 was verified as the orignal creditor Discover was verified completely Discover is still reporting an incorrect account close date. It was closed in 2003 as part of a credit counseling agreement, but they're reporting an account close date of the final payment. I have a statment from Discover in 2004 showing "availible credit as 0" and a refund of late/overlimit fees. Is this worth fighting? Thanks again for a great forum.
what did you do in order to get those deletions? I am working on getting paid accounts deleted as well. What kind of dispute did you make, and how long did it take? Did you dispute it from all three credit agencies at once? Any information on how you accomplished that would be appriecated.
