I got lots of help from this board regarding a Cross Country account that was closed and sold to about 900 different collection agencies - none of which ever responded to any of my validation letters. The last such collection guru was a law firm collection agency that had a judgment served on me without any prior letter of collection, etc. I was instructed by many - more wise than I - on this board how to respond. I first requested via certified mail, return receipt requested validation of such all necessary legal forms and motions in response to his motion for judgment. Nothing was ever done any further by the collection/lawfirm. It has lain idle in the courthouse with my last counterclaim being the only thing filed in two almost two years. I recently received a calendar call from the court in which this all was filed that on July 2, I am #330 on a calendar re status of claim. I called the courthouse and learned that nothing new has been added to the file since my last filing. Nothing at all from law firm collector. The clerk informed me that the only reason for the status call calendar was to clean up all the dead cases still lying around. What do I do now (of course, I will go on July 2nd) but does anyone know what I can expect. Will he be there with boxing gloves on. The law firm NEVER validated anything and I have copies of my request and certified mailing which I used as an Exhibit to my counterclaim and defenses. Any help will be much appreciated. Linda
